Jai Hanuman
Yoga and Ayurveda Retreat, Sri Lanka

23 February – 1 March 2019

Experience the bliss of Yoga and Ayurveda surrounded by the exquisite beauty, pristine beaches, abundant wildlife and sensual sunsets of Sri Lanka

Sen Wellness Sanctuary is located on beautiful Rekawa Beach on the south coast of Sri Lanka in a pristine National Park.

It is home to a stunning expanse of golden sand and a magnificent turtle nesting site. The soft, golden sand, tropical palms and energetic waves of the Indian Ocean make an unforgettable setting for your retreat experience.

The ethos of Sen Sanctuary is the healing power of nature. It is surrounded by the power of the ocean and vibrant, green forest, abundant with butterflies and birds. The beautiful buildings blend serenely into the stunning natural surroundings, built on stilts, sensitive to the natural habitat and migration of wildlife. The buildings are designed in the shape of a conch shell to draw the energy from the earth and ocean to the serenity of The Sanctuary.

Suspended walkways lead you to luxury, natural thatched cabanas. The rustic, elegant design celebrates the intricate craftsmanship of local artisans. The bathrooms are open to the elements so that you can experience a shower whilst star gazing.

The Yoga Shala is an expansive space of natural wood overlooking tropical green forest. The sea breeze naturally keeps the space refreshingly cool.

On waking up in this stunning location, we will do a sunrise sadhana, blissfully infused with the grace of asana, flowing through the breath towards a soft, meditative mind. Moving through beautiful sequencing and creative namaskars, we will explore Hanuman inspired Elemental Vinyasa. These soulful practices create a sense of connection, openness and vibrancy, leaving you feeling lovingly uplifted and alive. In the afternoons, we will surrender to a more restorative, yin practice, allowing your being to rest, renew and rejuvenate. Ayurvedic massage, treatments and consultations will be available at Sen Sanctuary Spa throughout your stay.

The delicious vegetarian and fish cuisine offers authentic Ayurvedic Sri Lankan specialities, tropical fresh fruit and a daily king coconut after your morning yoga class. In your free time, walk along the pristine golden sands, indulge in a relaxing Ayurvedic massage or experience local culture and surroundings. Afternoon excursions can be arranged to visit the exquisite beach of Talalla, explore ancient Buddhist cave temples or experience the colour of Sri Lankan culture at a local market.

Mid-retreat you will have a free day to explore the stunning Sri Lankan south coast. You may choose to whale-watch in beautiful Mirissa, visit the colourful colonial fort town of Galle or observe the elephant and wildlife in Uda Walawe or Yala National Park.

Sen Sanctuary’s warm, genuine, gracious staff are always at hand to help you with anything you need on this stunning Sri Lankan Yoga and Ayurveda retreat.
