Into the Wild Yoga Retreat
Watamu, Kenya

20 – 26 October 2026

The Kenyan village of Watamu beholds coconut palms, soft white sand beaches, turquoise pure waters, coral gardens and tiny paradise islands. Watamu is a Marine National Park offering a pristine snorkelling and diving experience with manta rays, turtles and gentle whale sharks. The region is habitat to abundant forest, wildlife, elephants, birds and butterflies. This paradise place is spiced with Kenyan, Arab and Italian culture. The delightful village features quaint Kenyan dukas and the ancient Gede Ruins, a mysterious 13th century Swahili village is nearby.

Palm Garden Boutique Hotel is our serene sanctuary for the week; a lush, tropical garden hideaway in the heart of Watamu’s villages, just a short walk from the Indian Ocean. Set amongst lush palms, flowers and a cool turquoise pool, this boutique venue offers elegant, peaceful spaces to rest and reconnect. The hotel features individually designed en-suite rooms with natural tones, traditional African artwork, textiles, paintings and magnificent wildlife photography. There is a fresh coastal feel, simply beautiful and infused with nature. Quiet verandas, shaded nooks, hanging sun beds and a serene pool invite deep rest between yoga practices. It’s a space that naturally supports renewal and soulful presence.

Each day begins with a sunrise meditation to awaken your mind, body and soul to the abundance and beauty all around you, followed by a fruit breakfast and blissful Yoga sadhana, surrounded by birdsong and kissed by ocean breeze. We will move through beautiful sequencing and creative namaskars, exploring elemental-inspired Vinyasa, Rocket and Dharma Yoga. These practices cultivate connection, vitality, and inner clarity. In the afternoons, we’ll soften into stillness with introspective Yin Yoga and meditation, offering your whole being space to settle, soothe, and realign.

From sunrise to sunset, immerse yourself in the rhythms of coastal paradise. Swim in the saltwater pool, rest in the shade of palm trees, read on a hanging sun bed, or indulge in a healing massage. The beach is a short walk away, inviting barefoot wanders, ocean dips, and golden-hour magic.

Kenya’s fertile land gifts food of the gods for our bountiful retreat nourishment. Palm Garden cuisine is abundant in flavour, colour, nutrients and freshness. Flavours are inspired by Italian, Mediterranean and Swahili cultures. Ingredients are sourced with care at local markets and made with love. Principles of vibrancy and freshness ensure that food is bursting with life force.

In your free time, walk along the white sands of Watamu beach, snorkel in the coral gardens, take a kayak or paddle boarding tour. Experience diving in Watamu’s warm, tropical, diverse waters. Paddle board or kayak along the Mida Creek at sunset or float through the mangroves to a pristine white sand beach. Visit the ancient Gede ruins of a 13th century Swahili village. Watch the sunset on a  the jewel of Mida Creek. Share sundowners in friendship by the pool or on the white sandy shores.

Tsavo National Park is located two hours south of Watamu and you have the opportunity to go Into the Wild of Kenya, experiencing a wildlife safari to view the majestic animals of Africa before or after your retreat experience.
